Tigers release artillery pictures

[TamilNet, Friday, 22 September 2000, 12:00 GMT]
The Tamil Guardian newspaper this week published photographs of the Liberation Tigers' captured 152mm howitzers along with pictures of Operation Unceasing Waves 3, including one of the LTTE flag being raised over the overrun Sri Lanka Army (SLA) base at Elephant Pass in April.

Copies of some of the photographs were obtained by TamilNet this morning. The paper said it had secured them this week from LTTE sources. The paper hits newsstands in London Friday.

The Tigers said they captured three 152mm artillery pieces when they overran the SLA base complex at Elephant Pass on April 22 this year.
