The Supreme Court has allowed the four suspects in the Journalist Mylvaganam Nimalarajan murder case to report to the Vavuniya Police on the last Sunday of each month instead of reporting to Jaffna Police Station as earlier ordered by the Jaffna High Court, legal sources said.

The SC made this order on fundamental rights applications filed by the four suspects, namely Mr. Kandasamy Jegatheeswaran alias Jegan, Mr. Palanichamy Visuvanathan alias Visvan, Mr.David Michael Colin and Mr.Karalasingam Sinthuparan, all of whom are members of the paramilitary Eelam People's Democratic Party (EPDP), stating that they felt insecure in Jaffna. The murder suspects requested the court to allow them to report to any police station outside Jaffna district, legal sources said.

The Jaffna High Court earlier enlarged these four suspects on bail with the condition that they should report to Jaffna Police the last Sunday of each month.

The SC after inquiry into the FR applications allowed all the four suspects to report to the Vavuniya Police on the last Sunday of each month, legal sources said.

The SC has conveyed its decision to the Jaffna High Court, legal sources said.
